Looks like Another Planet is putting on a music festival on treasure island this weekend. This one looks to be a good time - I always like music festivals cause it gives me the chance to discover new bands. I really like the ones I've heard of (Thievery Corporation, Built To Spill, etc.), so have high hopes for discovering new stuff.
It runs this weekend, 9/15-16. And I guess Treasure Islands cool enough to hang out at, maybe once every other year. It's about that time. Who knows what the best way is to get yourself there...
SALT (Seminar About Long-Term Thinking) has its monthly lecture on Friday. It's sponsored by the Long Now Foundation, which not only brings monthly lectures to SF, but also promotes thinking along millennial timelines through, well, I'm not really sure how.
This one features Gwyneth Cravens and Rip Anderson, discussing nuclear energy, its benefits, and its future in the U.S. The SALT series is always good, so it will be worth checking out if there's nothing else on the calendar that evening.

OK - so I'm putting this together only because I'm trying to check out all the different blogging platforms. Basically I need ideas from the best to build a great product ourselves. It's work related, I promise - but I also figured I could have some fun with it while I'm at it.
